Coaches Corral

We started our day in the player's dining room where we had lunch. We tried to find our favorite table where we ate the last few days. Each table has a flag on it named after a famous U.S. Open Course. Of course, being from Pinehurst I chose the Pinehurst table the last few days. Being the supertitious golfer that I am, we went right in to look for our Pinehurst table. To our surprise, the Pinehurst table was taken, so we actually went to the Medina table and switched flags. We asked the people sitting at the Pinehurst table if they would mind if we switched flags, and they were happy to do it for us.

It was an exciting experience for Richy to be under the microscope of a major golf tournament with many top level college coaches watching him practice and play. On the practice range an on the golf course at any given time there were a dozen golf coaches watching every move Richy made. We dealt with the pressure by pretending that we were the only two people on the course, and it worked out great. We started off winning the first two holes to go two up, and we never lost the lead. We ultimately won our match 3 and 1 over Nicholas Losole III from Scotsdale, AZ. Tomorrow we play against David Persons from El Paso, TX at 7:48 am. If you get a chance check out the live scoring at USGA.org, if you don't I will let you know tomorrow night how we do.
